Digital Re-Igniter Flame Sensor Controller 120 volt to 24 volt.
A versatile controller which is deal for cooktops, gas grills, BBQ’s, gas lamps and any other application where a simple re-light is required during operation. Perfect for applications where wind or water etc is an issue.
The controller uses the igniter to light and sense and re-lighting is instant in the event of a flame out.
This unit is very easy to install and can be used instead of spark re-ignition units such as the Tytronic re-ignition modules. In some cases the controller and our 24 volt mini hot surface igniters can be retrofitted without very much modification.

SNC 120-24R – Digital Re-Igniter Flame Sensor Controller
Specification and Operating Instructions
Introduction
The SNC 120-24R is pulse controller which delivers power from 120 VAC RMS mains voltage to a 24 volt igniter. It is designed for use with the Crystal Technica 24v Mini igniter. The controller operates as a conventional re-igniter used for domestic and commercial gas appliances. This re-ignition function is an integrated feature of this controller.
Operation Description
As soon as mains voltage is applied to the controller the Igniter (HSI) operates instantly. The HSI remains ON until the flame is reliably established.
Once the flame is established the controller verifies this during 0.5 to 1.0 sec period. The HSI remains ON for another 5 seconds before switching into flame sensing mode.
The Controller then operates the HSI as a flame sensor and remains in flame sensing mode until the flame is lost or the power has been turned off.
If the flame is lost during operation, the controller reverts to ignition mode to restore the flame within 2-3 seconds.
For flame detection and verification the Controller utilises a conventional “Flame rectification method”. This method guarantees simple and reliable flame detection even at the lowest possible gas flow.

Controller features
-
Adjusts its timing parameters and pulse rate according to input RMS voltage and frequency.
-
Dynamically readjusts output power from cycle to cycle if mains voltage changes during operation.
-
The Controller can be programmed at manufacture with different parameters or additional features according customer specification.
-
The Controller may be pre-programmed and calibrated for different input and output RMS voltages within ±30%.
-
Controller varies HSI “Preheating” regime according initial HSI temperature.
-
During the “Non heating” stage controller disconnects HSI from mains and solid state switching device
-
This Controller is suitable for use with a transformer with galvanic coupling between Earth and Neutral
Dimensions (all models)
All dimensions have tolerance ±0.5mm.

black flame retardant epoxy.
Installation
The Controller runs warm and must be screwed or bolted, horizontally or vertically to a flat, preferably metal, surface using self tapping screws or a M4x20mm nut and bolt. A metal surface provides an ideal heat sink.
If application temperatures exceed those of the Controller, a thermo-conductive paste or pad may be used to improve thermion conductivity between Controller body and surface.
Where the ambient temperature does not exceed 50oC the Controller may be attached to any surface using high quality double-sided adhesive pads.
Safety Information
Only connect the controller in accordance with the recommended wiring diagram.
Connections should be carried out after completion of HSI installation.
Always use insulated Quick connectors.
All wiring terminals must be crimped with the appropriate and approved standard crimping tools only.
The controller is a non-earthed product and must only be installed as per the manufacturers’ recommendations.
Any controller showing signs of physical damage must be removed and replaced.
Do not use the controller if:
-
The body is cracked and/or damaged, terminals or any internal part are exposed out of epoxy
-
The wiring loom has damaged insulation or inappropriate/unapproved cable.
-
Quick connectors are damaged. If there is a bad electrical contact to a Quick connector, high output current can cause sparks and smouldering and could result in a fire.
Do not leave your gas appliances completely unattended, especially in conditions where the flame loss is very likely, such as:
-
Windy conditions.
-
Water spill.
-
Where the gas supply is limited or inconsistent, etc.
Warranty
This product has a 12 month warranty where it is faulty due to defective materials or workmanship.
Failed units will be replaced free of charge within twelve months of the purchase date.
Should a failure occur, please send the failed unit back to your local sales agent with a detailed note describing conditions it has failed under.
The supplier reserves the right for minor change in design of the Controller which does not significantly affect its operation or change its output dimensional parameters.
All customers will be advised in advance if significant changes are to be implemented in Controller design.
